Happy Christmas! The break is finally here!!

(Peruvian Nativity)
We thought we would be able to relax over the holidays with our papers in Peru, but we had an e-mail asking for more documents! We have to get health checks redone because they are over 3 months old- we had to get them done at the beginning of the process a year ago in order to proceed. We also need to get new letters from our employer, new marriage and birth certificates (they are older than a year!!) and a psychological evaluation done! These need to be done ASAP so that we can get the notarized and sent to Peru to add to our original bundle.

We had a psychiatrist do a profile of us last week, but now need to see a psychologist, because we have to have certain tests done. Hopefully we can get this done very soon. We have sent our new health checks off to be processed, ordered new certificates and completed a lot of extra forms. Hopefully this will be the last!!

Will keep you posted,

We kept checking the tracker last night, but no news. This morning we read:

11 Dec 2009 11:58:00 Lima Shipment Delivered In Good Condition.

Delivered!! (Red arrow marks the spot!) Our lawyer will pick it up and then get it translated. Not sure when, as it is now the weekend. Might have to wait till Monday. At least it is there and ready to go! Thanks to those who prayed for a speedy turnaround. Despite swine flu, this has happened very quickly and we are hopeful that it will get translated before our medical docs run out at the end of January. We are still learning to trust His timing!

Our lawyer in Peru is ready and waiting. Which will come first? The parcel tracker saying delivered, or our lawyer saying collected?!

SENT!!
Hopefully not by llama mail!!

Today we heard that our papers have been sent to Peru, the e-mail read:

Dear Mr and Mrs Green

Just a quick email to confirm your parcel has now
gone to Peru . A letter has also been forward to you regarding this.

It is my understanding that parcels take an average of 5 days but I am unsure for Peru. Hopefully you will not have to wait to long for the referral of a child. As soon as I receive anything I will send the information to your agency and contact you immediately.

Kind regards

Thank you again for your prayers and support. We are pleased to be one step closer. At least our part is hopefully done. Translation next!! x

Here's what we had to celebrate!!

Monday, December 07, 2009

We received an e-mail today to say our papers are ready to be sent!! We will be sending them this week via courier. The weight and dimensions of our parcel are:
weight 1kg and dimensions 40 x 33 x 2cm! Huge!!

The e-mail read:
Dear Mr and Mrs Green

Sincere apologies for the delay in responding but, you may be aware from our web site, that the ICA team has been closed for some weeks now due to an outbreak of swine flu. This has decimated our small team of 5 and has had a domino affect on the team. I myself have just returned after 5 weeks of illness so as you can imagine have a lot of catching up to do.

Anyway I am pleased to advise you that your application is now ready to be sent to Peru.

We will get then translated in Peru, and then go to the SNA (Peruvian Adoption Department) to be checked...again!! Hopefully all will be well and nothing else will need to be done. Thanks for your prayers x
