Our papers are with our government department, but seem to be stuck as there are many staff there off ill with swine flu. We are really praying that this does not delay us too long, as some of our documents will time out and will need redoing if they take too long to get to Peru. Everything is ready, just waiting for them to send... soon please x We are really learning patience here. It is not an easy lesson!

We received a letter today that says our dossier of papers have been to the right places in London, and have now been sent to the DCSF (our government office responsible for adoption), so once they have been checked they can be sent to Peru. I will call the offices on Monday and confirm it has got there and ask for a time frame for when it might get sent. I hope will will be quick! Not sure how long these things take.

The legal group that checked and notorised our papers have also said they will copy them for us. Often the certificate of eligibility you get after the home study is never actually seen by the couple hoping to adopt. To have a copy of the papers will be great, and an extra layer of our story that one day the child may look through when exploring their history. A little blessing!

We now need to contact our lawyer in Peru and let him know that our papers are on their way soon!! Thanks for your continued support and prayers,

Just to update- our papers are on the move! We finally got all the medical details together and have met with the notary, who has sorted all our papers out and they were sent to the consulate in London on Friday. They will then go to the Peruvian Embassy in London, then back to the notary here- this should all happen in about a week. Then off to our government to be checked one last time before going to Peru.

That is nearly all our chasing done, and we hope to be sent by Christmas, which would be a relief! Things are moving along slowly but steadily now, we are praying that there are no hiccups and the postal strike doesn't affect us! Will keep you updated,
